Size Guide

Every Oieffur piece is measured by hand before it goes on sale. Not scaled from a CAD file, not estimated from the mould drawing. This guide lists total length, usable length, maximum circumference and weight for all 34 products currently in the shop, across 119 size tiers. All lengths are in centimetres, weights in grams.

Circumference is the number that decides fit, so circumference is what we publish. It is measured with a soft tape wrapped around the thickest point of the shaft. Most sites quote diameter instead, but on a fantasy shape diameter is almost never measured — it is calculated from circumference on the assumption that the cross-section is a perfect circle. Very few of these shapes are. We would rather give you the number we actually took off the piece.

How We Measure

Four numbers define every size tier.

Total Length — tip to base, including any part that does not go in: suction cup, scrotum base, flared plate. This is the number for judging overall scale and for knowing whether it fits in your drawer.

Usable Length — the insertable portion only, tip to where the base begins. This is the number that matters for depth. On some designs it is 4–6 cm shorter than total length; on the sleeves it is shorter still, because the ring and the cuff sit outside.

Max Circumference — a soft tape wrapped around the widest point. On knotted designs the knot is the widest point, so the knot is the number listed. On flared designs it is the head.

Weight — the finished piece on a scale. Worth reading before you buy the largest tier of anything. Several of them pass 2 kg, and a few pass 3.5 kg.

If you want a diameter figure to compare against something you already own, divide the circumference by 3.14. Treat the result as an approximation, for the reason given above.

The Fist Test

You do not need to buy anything to calibrate yourself against these numbers. You already have a reference object.

Take a soft tape measure — the fabric kind for sewing — make a fist, and wrap the tape around your knuckles. Most adult fists come out between 22 and 26 cm. Write that number down. It is the single most useful figure you can bring to this page.

Now read the Max Circumference column against it. Anything approaching your own fist measurement is a serious stretch and not a first purchase. Something 8–10 cm below it is a reasonable place to start.

No tape measure in the house? Three objects most people can find, all close to 21 cm around: a standard soda can, a tennis ball, and the body of a 500 ml water bottle. Hold one and you have a physical sense of what 21 cm means before you order it.

Choosing Your First Size

Go one tier below your instinct. Platinum-cured silicone has far less give than the TPE or jelly material most people have handled before. A tier that looks moderate on screen will read larger in the hand, and larger again in use.

Length is negotiable. Circumference is not. You control how much length you take. You do not control circumference — it arrives all at once, at the widest point, and your body either accommodates it or it does not. If you are deciding between two tiers, decide on the circumference column and let the length fall where it falls.

Read usable length, not total length. The difference between the two is base structure. A 33 cm piece with a 6 cm scrotum base is a 27 cm piece as far as your body is concerned.

Knots and flares move the difficulty. On a knotted or flared design the widest point is not the middle of the shaft — it is one specific moment, at entry or just past it. The rest is easier than the number suggests, and that one moment is harder. If you have not used a knotted design before, start two tiers down rather than one.

How Accurate Are These Numbers

Less accurate than a table of decimals implies, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Measuring these shapes is not like measuring a pipe. Two people measuring the same piece get two different numbers. The same person measuring twice on different days gets two different numbers. The shapes are not round — they are oval in places, flattened in others, and they rise and fall along their length. Where exactly you lay the tape changes the reading.

So here is what we actually do, and what the numbers mean. We wrap a soft tape around the widest point and read the circumference. That is the measured value, and it is the one in the table. Where a diameter figure appears on a product page, it was calculated from that circumference, not measured separately — which is also why a diameter derived this way runs slightly large on a shape that is not a true circle.

Treat every figure here as close, not exact. Use them to compare one piece against another, and to compare against your own fist measurement. Do not use them to plan around a difference of a few millimetres, because a few millimetres is inside the noise of the measurement itself.

If something you receive is clearly not what the table says — not a few millimetres, but visibly different — tell us. We want to know.
